Important Terms - S&J Plumbing and Gasfitting
Home Protection Plan – Terms & Conditions
1. Membership Status
Membership benefits apply only while payments are current. If a payment is overdue or dishonoured, benefits may be temporarily suspended until the account is brought up to date.
2. Minimum Term
Memberships are subject to a minimum term of twelve (12) months from the commencement date.
3. Fees & Payments
Membership fees are payable via automatic monthly direct debit or annual upfront payment. Fees are non-refundable except where required under Australian Consumer Law. Unused services within a membership year do not roll over.
4. Renewal & Cancellation
After the initial 12-month term, the membership continues month-to-month unless cancelled. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the nominated S&J accounts email. A minimum of 30 days’ notice applies after the initial term. Membership benefits remain active while payments are current.
5. Early Cancellation (Within Minimum Term)
If membership is cancelled before completion of the 12-month minimum term, S&J may:
- Require payment of the remaining minimum term balance, or
- Charge the standard non-member rate for services already provided and deduct this from amounts paid.
This ensures fairness where membership benefits have already been used.
6. Included Annual Services
Annual inspections, tune-ups and system checks:
- Are subject to scheduling availability
- Must be used within the applicable membership year
- Do not accumulate or carry forward
The first annual visit will occur within the first 12 months of membership.
7. Call-Out Fee Waiver
The standard business-hours call-out fee is waived for active members. After-hours emergency surcharges still apply.
8. Member Discounts
Member discounts apply to eligible plumbing services performed by S&J Plumbing and Gasfitting. Discounts do not apply to:
- After-hours surcharges
- Third-party materials
- Major system replacements unless stated
9. Workmanship Warranty
All workmanship completed by S&J Plumbing and Gasfitting is covered under standard industry warranty periods. Where extended workmanship coverage is included as a membership benefit, coverage remains valid only while membership is active and payments are current. Nothing in this clause limits rights under Australian Consumer Law.
10. Manufacturer Warranties
Manufacturer warranties are provided and administered by the relevant manufacturer. S&J does not extend or replace manufacturer warranties unless explicitly stated.
11. Exclusions
Membership benefits do not cover faults or damage caused by:
- Vermin or pests
- Severe weather or environmental conditions
- Power surges or electrical supply issues
- Misuse, neglect or unauthorised modifications
- Third-party works or external interference
12. Suspension or Cancellation by S&J
S&J Plumbing and Gasfitting may suspend or cancel a membership where payments are repeatedly dishonoured or membership benefits are misused. Where appropriate, a fair pro-rata adjustment may be applied.
13. Amendments
S&J Plumbing and Gasfitting reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will apply from the date they are published.
