I had a blocked toilet issue resolved with a camera inspection and drain jetting. The work was done professionally, with clear explanations and a lot of patience. The issue was fixed, the pricing was explained upfront, and there were no hidden costs.I would give 5 stars for the service and professionalism.However, the total cost was around $1,500 for approximately two hours of work, which I personally feel is quite expensive. I’m not sure whether this is a reasonable market price, but it did feel on the high side.Thank you anyway.

A whole day job in Rothwell for Reuben, Josh, Matt, and crew and all went smoothly.The crew that came were professional courteous and friendly but most importantly did a great job. The crew kept me informed and offered options as we went. Some of my tree roots were uncooperative but the guys managed to get past. Nick came out and to look at getting an outdoor tap installed for us and check out a tap that was lacking water pressure which I wasn't sure could be fixed easily. Nick was great and offered to take a look at it to see if he couldn't repair and service it while he was here and he was able to fix it. It now works well and the pressure is great. No more waiting 5mins plus for buckets/watering cans to fill.Also he was great with my cat and our puppy who wanted to say hi ☺️Whole process was great and Nick was super nice. Will definitely get the SJ team out again when we need them.

Initial contact was to seek a quote to locate a leak in underground pipework from water meter to front of dwelling (approx 9 meters). After reviewing options with Geordie it was apparent the most practical & cost-effective solution was to install new pipework. Detailed quote provided with works completed same day. As an added bonus, a stopcock valve was also installed, thus allowing mains water to be turned off to house without having to ‘turn off’ at the water meter.I highly recommend S&J Plumbing. Contacted the team to service a leaking tap, and to do a health check on my hot water system after some concerning noises had been happening. Charlie arrived promptly after calling to advise he was on the way and was friendly and knowledgeable, immediately understanding my problems and being able to explain what would be causing and how to mitigate in the future.Replaced a number of parts on the hot water system the same day which was appreciated while explaining what was being done and switched over the tap fittings that had been plaguing me for a while. Great service at a good price, will be using in the future for any other needs that pop up!Edit in Jan'26: Contacted S&J for some other issues relating to two toilets -- Tyrell attended promptly, was professional and friendly, able to diagnose and resolve the issues during his visit. Carl came over last minute during a party and literally saved me from dying of embarrassment. I had just had surgery and the pain meds blocked me up for no shit a whole month. I sat on the throne, sweat beading from my brow and battled this behemoth for a good hour. As it started to pass, I felt the stool girth stretching me open with incredible pain. I kept pushing and pushing but I couldn’t back it out. I then realised that I needed to stand to complete the motion. I found myself puffed and drenched in sweat, in pain but weirdly with a level of accomplishment. This trophy was a record breaker, rock hard and stood proud a few inches higher than the seat. It was accompanied by the most savage stomach wrenching odour of death and decay, a pungency washing couldn’t remove from my clothes. I hid out in the bathroom and called Carl. I asked if he could bring an alibi for me as my whole family was there. He brought this mate Dean who you can tell thrives on disgusting things. He got Dean to go apologise to the whole party for his unexpected horror show he left in the bathroom. Carl got to work, dislodged and bagged the putrid mass, cleaned up the bathroom immaculately. He was super cheap and quick . Bringing the fall guy was the cherry on the cake.

The tradies on the front line (Tyrell & Carl) did a great job. Tyrell decommissioned a laundry and bathroom , then came back and soft fit plumbing. Carl finished the hard fit for bathroom. Both worked very professionally.The office communications team however, had no idea. Twice I booked appointments,being told from midday to 5.30pm and was calling towards the end of the day questioning where is my plumber, and given very poor excuses in return. Was contacted by Tradie Tyrell who then carried through with the tasks required. On hard fit day Carl had been working diligently for 2 hours when I received a txt from the office stating a technician would be arriving in next half hour.. WOW.An extra $10k was added to my final account though removed very promptly upon query, again, thank you to good comms with the tradies Carl & Tyrell for sorting this.Frontline staff (Tradies) - 5 starOffice Communications staff - 1 star
